A great way to feel better is to simply stand or sit in front of a mirror and give a warm smile to yourself. Hold that smile for as long as possible and continue looking in the mirror at your eyes, mouth, cheeks, and overall face. Enjoy your presence. Love yourself. Try it for a minute. Keep a timepiece nearby with a minute hand. See if you can hold that warm smile for 15 minutes. Make the smile genuine. Light your eyes up a little. Your goal is a gentle warm loving smile you give yourself. As you do this you feel great inside. You do not need to think anything while doing this. As you hold your smile over a period of time, you may lose some energy of the smile. That is okay just add some more energy to bring back the original warmth of the smile.

Spend time each day doing this. If you haven't smiled in a while or not that often you may need some work finding just the right smile so that's its looks genuinely warm. This may take a day or too. Spend 15 minutes a day doing this. Also you can even smile to yourself for several seconds or minutes at a time throughout the day. You should do this when you have some private time of course lest your co-workers think you took a dive off the deep end. If they do happen to catch you smiling at yourself, tell them you are practicing smile meditation. You just may get them hooked.

The best benefit is immediately feeling good. There are also benefits afterwards such as your resting facial expressions now want to remain in a smiling position. This can have the effect of making you look more attractive, happy, confident and smart. This can lead to more positive opportunities with people which can expand your life. There is also the benefit of improving your health. Often our health becomes bad because of the constant negativity that we absorb into our senses, mind, and body. If you don't believe this can work, just try smiling right now for a minute. Smile a gentle warm smile. Hold it for a minute. It may be harder than you think but the benefits are tremendous for such a small act. Your smile can lead to a chain of events which bring more peace in the world.
