Yoga is an excellent way to relax, tone, improve focus and mental stability. However, without a proper yoga mat, your yoga practice can be frustrating and dangerous. Trust me when I tell you, if your warrior pose is slipping to a cowardly crawl, it's time to invest in a new yoga mat.
When I first started practicing yoga, I didn't invest in a good yoga mat. For my first few classes I practiced on a mat I found in my friends garage. My yoga practice resembled the slip and slide, it was comical and trying. Downward Dog was the only position the edges of my mat wouldn't roll up and slap away what little focus I could gather.
Whether you are a novice or a yoga expert, investing in a reliable yoga mat is the first step to insuring you get the best from your yoga practice.
